4-Week Workshop

Workshop Theme:

Embodying the Brahmavihārās:
Yin Yoga to Cultivate our True Home

“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place we can go as we are and not be questioned”

- Maya Angelou

The Brahmavihārās, or the “Four Immesurables” are virtues that lead to genuine sense of happiness.

While we all seek happiness, we usually do so through attempting to perfect our life (the job, house, relationship, exotic vacation).

These things are nice to enjoy, perfect circumstances are illusive. Depending on them for our happiness will cause inevitable disappointment, anxiety and insecurity.

The happiness the Buddha speaks of is an inner sense of contentment- a feeling of being home in our lives exactly as they are.

Brahma, means “divine” and vihara means home.

When we cultivate these mind states of loving kindness, compassion, joy and equinimity we create a home within our own heart that is intrinsically whole, pure and radiant.

We feel more connected to others and ourselves. We have a more stable ground of “ok-ness” that is always there, regardless of circumstances.
