Nosco Yoga: an integrative practice
A unique class that combines Medical Qigong, Yin Yoga, and Meditation
Nosco is a Latin word which means “to get to know”, to “examine, study, or inspect”. The word also translates as “an honest recollection and acceptance of what is valid or true”. The word Yoga comes from the Vedic word “to yoke” and means to bring together, to integrate, or to unite. Nosco Yoga, therefore, combines the spirit of inquiry with the intention to integrate. Through honest self-study, we will discover what is true for us, and work to embody that truth in a way that feels expansive. The class will begin with a short, guided meditation, followed by an active Qigong practice, and ending with Yin Yoga practice and relaxation. This is a great class for those interested in Qigong, Yin Yoga, and meditation, or for those looking for spiritual/psychological development. This program is intended less for exercise, and more for somatic exploration and energetic attunement.
Please note: this class is limited to 15 students. Due to the specific content of this class, classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Classes will run Tuesday nights from 7:30-8:45, 8 weeks consecutively, at the Calgary Buddhist Temple. Please mark your calendar for the following dates!
